11/20/2022 0 Comments Halo 3 armor![]() I’d also like to throw my own hat in the ring and say that the Blackguard Ashen Crown helmet is giving me some vibes from Berserk‘s Skeleton Knight. Halo community members have likened the hooded skull helmet with that of both Skeletor from He-Man and Marvel’s Taskmaster. The Blackguard sets, which feature a grimacing skull helmet, certainly conjure up some memories. I don’t want to go so far as to call some of the new sets direct inspirations, but I’ll be damned if one of them doesn’t look like a Stormtrooper. Individual pieces of each armor variant can be. Season 8’s Mythic armor may be the start of 343 Industries getting a little wild with armor designs. Halo 3 has large number of armor variants available to customize your characters look in Multiplayer games. The Ninja Gaiden-inspired Hayabusa set had been the most contrary to Halo‘s sci-fi themes. For the most part, 343 Industries has focused on futuristic armor complete with lore. Frankly, I think most of them look pretty badass and completely unique to anything we’ve ever seen in Halo before. There are 18 new Halo 3 “ancient warrior” armor sets coming in Season 8. But it also means you can strap on a plague doctor mask, or put on armor eerily similar to other properties. Will this mean you can dress your Spartan up like an actual Spartan? Hell yes. In the company’s Canon Fodder blog post last night, it unveiled Halo 3 armor sets inspired by “ancient warriors” from throughout history. ![]() While new armor sets for the game aren’t necessarily surprising, developer 343 Industries has decided to go in a surprising direction this time around. Halo 3 multiplayer is getting more armor sets when Season 8 (code name: Mythic) lands this week. ![]() The original story, published on September 1, is as follows. According to the Halo Support Twitter account, the flight, or preview, will last until September 13. Sure there were a lot of "options" but the armor permutations didn't stick out as much and once you were actually in-game it was almost impossible to actually differentiate armor pieces because the game moved so fast and the Spartans were so thin.: The Season 8 flight for Halo 3 and The Master Chief Collection, along with the ancient warriors armor, is now live. It wasn't like Halo 4 were there was no currency and practically everyone had to unlock the same armor pieces in the same sequential order. The credits (cR) systems also helped you create your Spartan in your own unique way because it meant being able to spend or save your cR up for certain armor pieces. It was always a treat meeting and seeing unique Spartans in matchmaking and custom lobbies. The inclusion of a female body-type was also great. The customization was very in-depth and you could actually differentiate between who was who both in game and when easily scrolling through everyone's Spartans in the lobby. Halo 3's customization was good but Reach just built and improved upon everything in Halo 3. But you notice that, with lower texture detail and higher emphasis on geometry, the Halo 3 helmets have lines and curves and shapes that make it so easy to know what the enemy's wearing pretty much instantly. Shoulder geometry changes immensely and uniquely for every spaulder, but torso variety is pretty 'meh'. You look at Halo 3 and every single helmet was absolutely nothing like the rest of the pack save for the Mk VI and V. ![]() Once again, things like Defender and Ranger stand out for not being the same shapes over and over again. Every spaulder in 4 is just another way to stretch or contort a hemisphere or a curve. The helmets and shoulders are even worse. I was forced to create a new account and I knew. Halo 4 has so few standout torsos that I use Soldier because it is the most unique body in the game (not counting Oceanic, but it looks a lot like default Recruit). I know the recon wave is over, unfortunately the account I played Halo 3 on for three years was banned. ![]() Reach avoids this by having a lot of super-distinct shoulder pieces and a handful of standout helmets (JFO and Operator, I'm lookin' at you). There is such a tremendous focus on fine detail in the armor sets available in Halo's Reach and 4 that the geometry is so much less defined. ![]()
